Making Insects

We had a challenge of making insects using only paper, card, newspaper, sharpie, cello tape and scissors. We are very proud of our finished insects. These were very popular at the STEAM open night.

Instruction Writing - How to blow up a balloon

For writing we have been learning to write instructions. Today we were writing instructions on how to blow up a balloon. First we each got a balloon and blew it up to help us write our steps. This was lots of fun. We then used our balloons for our fitness game!

 

Making Spiders

We had a busy morning on Friday making spiders for our spider webs. I am very impressed at the creative spiders everyone has made! These will be on display in our room on Monday. A big thank you to Lochie's Mum, Karyn, who came in and ran the hot glue gun station for us. This was a HUGE help!

STEAM Open Night

Please come to our STEAM open night on Thursday 23rd August 5-6.30. You will get to see all of the amazing things we have been doing in Room 18. You can also have a look in other classes.

Lego Insects

This week we have been using our knowledge of insects and have began making them using lego. It has been fun but also challenging. When we are finished we will take a picture and then using book creator on the iPads, we will label the body parts of our insects.

Science Table Update

Out science table is looking great! We are loving looking at all of the insects and spiders that have been brought in.

Ice Skating

What a great turn out from Room 18 on Friday night! Everyones ice skating improved immensely by the end of the night! 

Friday Fun

We worked really hard Friday morning and painted our spider webs, they are looking great! We were amazed at how much food was brought along for our shared lunch - thank you for your support with this! Simon really enjoyed his last day at our school.

A big thank you to Craig, Lochie's Dad, for lending us lots of insects to closely observe.
